Recorded Rounds / unregistered 720s
For many reasons, there are fewer opportunities in lesser populated areas for archers to participate in registered events. In order to provide opportunities for members in all areas of the province, the Performance Program will incorporate a blend of registered scores and "recorded rounds". Archers must submit a total of 4 scores from 720-rounds where at least one (1) is from a registered event, and the others are from "recorded rounds".
The format for “recorded rounds” will follow the criteria that was implemented by Archery Canada when selecting athletes for National Teams to the 2021 Senior World Championships and the 2022 Pan Am Masters Championships.
The “recorded round” will follow the format of a 720-round
There must be a Designated Recorder in charge of the round, who meets at least one of the following criteria:
An NCCP trained archery coach
A certified Provincial or National Judge
An Archery Canada certified Range Safety Officer
A member of BC Archery who is 18 or older and not related to the archer
The Designated Recorder is tasked with ensuring the recorded round follows all rules for a 720-round, with the exception of the number of participants.
If there is only 1 athlete shooting the recorded round, the Designated Recorder will participate in scoring and will submit a photograph of each end of the archer’s score (photo of arrows in target for each end, prior to marking/pulling arrows)
The range must follow rules for accurate distances, target sizes and target placement-heights.
AC Rule Book 3 Chapters 11 to 14 with respect to Athlete’s Equipment, Shooting, Timing and Scoring.
Scorecards from Recorded Rounds must be submitted within 2 days of shooting the round.
Scorecards must be completed in full (name, date, location, categories, signatures of all persons involved in scoring, total score, printed name of Designated Recorder, etc.)
